At first, Japan felt like something far beyond my reach. When I heard that Campus Asia 6 offered an opportunity to explore its culture and education, I did not think twice about applying. Of course, I came with expectations, but what I experienced in Japan went far beyond them- and here’s why.
Meeting people from different backgrounds, religions, and values was not easy at the beginning. There were moments when I felt challenged and unsure. Yet over time, I began to see these differences as something beautiful—an art of understanding, respecting, and growing together. I found myself truly enjoying the process. It changed the way I see diversity, people, and the world. I learned about their cultures, their countries, and even their social and governmental issues. Our conversations were filled with curiosity, honesty, and mutual respect, often ending with meaningful reflections that stayed with me.
One of the most valuable experiences I gained was conducting research at AIST, one of Japan’s prestigious research institutions. I met my mentors and colleagues who shared the same passion for my research topic. I truly enjoyed our discussions—sharing ideas, learning from their perspectives, and absorbing as much knowledge as I could. Experiencing Japan’s research environment firsthand, with its strong discipline, dedication, and collaborative spirit, deeply inspired me. I believe this experience will greatly prepare me to face global challenges in my future academic and professional journey.
My academic life at the University of Tsukuba was equally memorable. Attending lectures, seminars, and campus festivals allowed me to feel genuinely connected to student life in Japan. I made new friends, learned from inspiring professors, and created memories that I will always cherish.
Overall, I came to Japan with nothing, yet through the Campus Asia 6 program, Japan gave me more than I ever knew I needed—growth, perspective, confidence, and unforgettable memories. This experience shaped who I am today, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
Me and my fellow Campus Asia 6 students, with whom I shared this journey—I already miss them so much.
One of the many reasons I fell in love with Japan, its breathtaking landscapes!
